Food Revolution Day

Week 4 Term 2

On Friday the whole of SPS took part in 'Food Revolution Day!'

Food Revolution Day is a global campaign to put compulsory practical food education on the school curriculum. Jamie Oliver passionately believes that by educating children about food in a fun and engaging way, we can equip them with the basic skills they need to lead healthier, happier lives, for themselves and their future families.

Room 16 loved 'Food Revolution Day'; we discovered new foods we hadn't eaten before and combined flavours to create an awesome 'Squash it Sandwich'. We also learnt about following instructions and  working well with others.

Here is some feedback from some students:
  • Tali: 'I enjoyed making the sandwich, working as a team and helping others'.
  • Nelson: 'I enjoyed cutting up the apples and working with my buddy'.
  • Abdul: 'I enjoyed doing the cutting and passing my knife exam'.
  • Zhara: 'The sandwich tasted very powerful because of the balsamic vinegar'.
