2000 & Fit-teen

Week 3 Term 2

This week we launched our new inquiry topic- 2000 & Fit-teen; How can we make this place a healthy space?

We started by testing our fitness levels and abilities. We did shuttle runs, bur-pees, monkey bars and squats. For each fitness test we recorded our times or the number we did and made a note of them in our inquiry books. Over the term we will work at building up our fitness levels so that we can smash our initial fitness times and numbers!

We also watched a New Zealand documentary done by Nigel Latta on sugar and its effects on people and their health. It was a really interesting documentary and has already got us thinking about our own health and possible inquiry questions.

Here's the link to the documentary if your interested: 'Is sugar the new fat?'

Charlize smashed the monkey bars- next time she will time herself and see how quick she is!
John using his upper body strength.
Active sports will really help up build up our fitness levels!
Julia juggling her hockey ball on her hockey stick like a pro!
Fierce competition!
'Game on!' Says Terrie and Zhara.
